The scene opens with a shot of the Manhattan Skyline before fading to a street side where Chris Page is shown looking intently at something straight ahead. His hair is pulled in a ponytail while sporting a black leather jacket over a black t-shirt with a white Ghostbusters logo. The camera pans a 180-degree turn taking an over-the-shoulder view of Chris revealing what his gaze is firmly etched upon.
The World’s Most Famous Arena.
It’s a battleground that I’m very familiar with and that has seen me win and lose major championships over the last thirty years… but this time it’s different. This time it’s Tony Savage. Let’s get the formalities out of the way because, unlike ninety percent of the people I’ve slapped around this year alone, you are a different breed. I’ve had my eyes on you from a distance, I witnessed you conquer the Outlast Tournament, I was present when you claimed the very championship that you’re set to defend now, and I’ve looked on while you’ve competed inside the Octagon. We’ve both traveled different roads yet they intersect here and now. With each day that passes, I’m not getting any younger. I fully understand when I walk through that curtain under the lights of a sold-out Madison Square Garden that I am about to do battle with someone twenty years younger, twenty years.
Suddenly the scene of Chris looking at Madison Square Garden fades to the marquee displaying the following graphic
The marquee scrolls to two flashing words “SOLD OUT”.
The words ENTITY WORLD TITLE MATCH flash up on the marquee as Chris looks on intently.
The next thing that flashes across the marquee of MSG…
The scene of Chris looking at the marquee fades away and reopens in a private gym with blue mats covering the floor. Chris is in black gym shorts, a white wife-beater tank top, fists heavily taped, and sweat beading from his forehead as he throws striking blows at his personal trainer who has kick and strikes pads on.
How do you beat the unbeatable? It’s a question that drives deeper into my consciousness as every day passes because I know that I am walking into this as the underdog. I’m that old veteran that shouldn’t be here but seems to find a way when it matters the most. I must look at this battle as the single most important date of my life. I could rest on my reputation like so many others but that’s never been my style because every night I step foot inside a ring I am looking to prove all the naysayers wrong. I gave up a Championship for this one defining moment in the Entity's young history not because of the title shot… but because of the Champion that carries it.
A right strike from Page followed by a left and finished with a Judas Effect elbow strike before fading to Chris off to the side of the mats drinking a bottle of water followed by wiping sweat from his brow.
You can never fully prepare for the unknown.
You can try, but the truth is you will always end up surprised.
I understand the level of importance of this, Tony, and while we haven’t danced before doesn’t mean that I’m going to underestimate you because I’ve seen your fullest potential… it would be easy for me to stand before you, and say that you’ve not been tested yet, and that’s true for the Entity it’s not true throughout your career. You have carved a reputation for being one tough son of a bitch while I’ve carved my legacy that will be felt long after I’m gone. What I’ve accomplished throughout my career means nothing if I don’t put the pieces together and get this done here and now.
Fading back on the mat Chris is chain wrestling with CCPE talent Todrick Tabor-Ramsey.
This is the first time I’ve stepped to the plate and challenged for a major World Championship in two years; by choice, mind you. I put the need of building and maintaining an Enterprise first over my desire to be the man that takes on the responsibility of making or breaking an organization. Just a few short weeks ago CCPE established its dominance over the world and who would I be if I didn’t continue to display leadership by example?
This year alone I’ve been in the ring eight times and left with my arm raised seven of those times.
I’ve acquired singles gold but not the gold I want.
What I want is what you have.
… Midnight Massacre I’m going to take it.
Scene fades from the mats to Chris Page in grey sweats jogging isolated in Las Vegas with the mountain ranges on firm display.
There is no easy way out for either of us because just as much as I must lay you down is just as much as you have to do the same. This is the biggest match this company has put together and for you coming in as Champion the pressure is certainly all on you to live up to the expectations you’ve built for yourself against a guy that’s not only going to show up but he’s guaranteed to bring you the very best he can as long as the air is exuding him his lungs. I am going to take you to the deepest waters you’ve ever been to, I am going to show you why the last thing I am is overrated and very much underappreciated.
Planting my flag on top of any mountain is exactly what I crave.
My reputation is at stake now more than ever, and while the hunger to be the Champion is strong the desire to keep my reputation on point is stronger. It puts this at the ultimate crossroads for me not only as a performer but as a man.
Scene fades into the mountain ranges and reopens as Chris walks through the front doors of the Page-Wolf Estate in the grey sweatsuit that’s now covered in sweat stains on the armpits as well as around the neck of the sweatshirt. Chris removes it showing off a leaner body as clearly in the best shape of his storied career.
Candice Wolf-Page emerges from the master suite down the hall off the main corridor.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: Chris? Are you back?
Candice turns the corner of the hallway to find the love of her life walking into the open kitchen.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: How was your run?
Chris makes his way to the fridge and cracks it open where he pulls out a bottle of water and closes the fridge and directs his attention across at Candice who is sporting some tight skinny girl jeans and a tight red top.
CHRIS PAGE: Wow.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: What?
CHRIS PAGE: You look incredible.
Candice smiles at the compliment given by her husband.
CHRIS PAGE: I’m sorry, babe.
Chris twist the lid off the bottled water as Candice answers with a question of her own.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: For what?
CHRIS PAGE: I know that over the last six weeks, I haven’t necessarily been the best husband. My mind has been solely driven by preparing for Tony in the Garden. It’s not every day that I question if I’m good enough to do anything, but this time it’s different. I felt like I needed to immerse myself in making sure I am walking into this World Title affair more prepared for anything I’ve ever been involved in, and in doing so I haven’t been here for you.
The toll this has taken on me just in preparations alone is enough to drive most people mad, but it has to be this way because I have to look myself in the mirror and know that my time in our industry is eventually going to end. In my career, I’ve been to the top of the mountain eighteen times. I was content with that until I see the success CCPE is having with members carrying four World Titles for four different companies right now.
I’m not going to lie.
Five World Titles does sound appealing as fuck.
CHRIS PAGE: For the first time in a long time I’m questioning if I have what it takes to get back to the top… and honestly, it’s killing me.
Chris tosses the top of the water bottle on the granite top of the kitchen island. He takes a swig from his bottle as Candice walks over to the opposite side of the island while responding to Chris.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: First and foremost you haven’t let me down at all. I’m proud of the strides you’ve taken to make sure you are as prepared as you can possibly be. You are fifty-three years old and about to challenge for not one but two major World Titles over the next five weeks. I knew when these announcements were made that you would zone in, and who am I to stop you? I want to see you succeed.
Candice continues.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: In your last three weeks CCPE defeated the World and then you moved on and claimed a singles Championship in the XWF.
Chris then responds.
CHRIS PAGE: Sorry babe, Ned Kaye, and Tony Savage aren’t in the same league. With Tony, there aren’t many flaws in his game. He’s hungry for success, and he brings a different level of competition that I haven’t seen in a very long time.
Chris takes another swig from the bottle of water while Candice walks around the island and up to Chris where she slaps him across the right side of the face. Chris drops the bottle down to the tile floor and grabs his right cheek.
CHRIS PAGE: What the fuck?!?!
Candice slaps Chris across the left side of his face.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: Who the fuck are you right now?
Chris doesn’t have time to respond.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: You have been the man for the last two years, dominating an industry, creating an Enterprise, and winning Championships all over the spectrum. You have spent a career being the man, what’s one more night?
CHRIS PAGE: What the fuck IS my problem?
Chris asks himself before taking another slap across the face.
CHRIS PAGE: I’ve been doing this for three decades. It’s not my first rodeo.
Candice slaps more sense into Chris.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: Check the fuck in and go do you! I’m not the one that’s going to placate your insecurities. I know the Chris Page I married, and this isn’t it. If I have to kick you in the ass for you to come to terms with not only WHO you are but WHAT you represent then you’re walking into this on the losing side. You are single-handedly responsible for the momentum shift of an entire industry, you’ve spent the last seventeen months building CCPE from the ground up and have turned it into the most successful Enterprise in not just professional wrestling but professional sports.
CHRIS PAGE: But…
Candice immediately stomps on the big toe of Chris’s right foot.
CHRIS PAGE: FUCK!
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: We can keep doing this or you can wake the fuck up. The choice is yours.
Let’s make something perfectly clear because while I respect you, Tony, that doesn’t mean that I’m not going to clock the fuck in and do what I’ve done my entire career to stay in a prominent position. I have beaten some of the best of the best on my road to you, Tony. The unstoppable Raion Kido? Slayed by my hands, and he was a guy that was unblemished for six months. I say that to say I didn’t have to resort to cheap tactics, I just out-wrestled him. But now that World Title is up for grabs I don’t want you to think for one second that if I have to take a shortcut or two to cross that finish line first that I won’t hesitate to do so. I am the guy that makes all this tick and we are on the verge of showing the world that while I might be closing in on being a card-carrying senior citizen doesn’t mean that this old dog hasn’t learned new tricks.

I flew into Manhattan on Friday morning and immediately started a media tour that ended with a taping of…
We open backstage in the “Green Room” where Kat Jones paces back and forth across the floor in front of Chris who is relaxed on a loveseat watching Jimmy warm up the studio audience.
CHRIS PAGE: I wish you’d stop pacing.
Kat does stop and directs her attention toward Chris.
KAT JONES: You’ll have to excuse me if I’m a little nervous. It’s not every day I’m on set at Fallon. Do we need to go over what you’re going to say?
Chris seems dumbfounded by Kat’s question.
CHRIS PAGE: It’s question and answer. It’s not complicated, but Kat… I’m not going to lie, I need this.
KAT JONES: What? This interview?
CHRIS PAGE: Nah, I need this win. I need to show CCPE that I still got the goods to be World Heavyweight Champion. It’s been too long since I’ve put myself in a position to be truly on top.
That’s a key piece to what makes this a must-win for yours truly. It’s being able to take that World Title off a game competitor who WANTS to be the man. I hate to be that guy that resorts to a timeless saying but I think now more than ever it fits a fucking tee. To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man. Tony Savage, I have been the man for three decades. I was winning World Titles while you were dreaming about losing your virginity.

It hasn’t been until right here, right now that I remember just who the hell I am.
I am ruthless.
I am powerful.
I am the straw that stirs the drink that is professional wrestling.
This is my time.
Madison Square Garden is going to be the place where I notch number nineteen for no other reason than because it’s been too long since I’ve sat on the throne. CHRIS PAGE: It’s time for the king to take his throne.
Chris gets up off the loveseat.
CHRIS PAGE: CCPE is stronger than it’s ever been before. We control four World Titles across this industry, and that number is about to increase to five. We are professional wrestling, and now it’s my turn to prove it.

Later Friday evening Chris made his way to the Velvet Rabbit Manhattan inside the private office of Candice Wolf-Page. Chris walked through the front door as Candice just finished watching his Tonight Show appearance. Candice greets Chris with a kiss on the lips before she states.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: Great appearance with Fallon! That’s the confidence I expect you to exude walking into the war with Savage.
CHRIS PAGE: Thanks, babe. I owe it all to you. Had you not slapped some sense into me I might not have pulled my shit together.
Do you know what makes this taste just a little sweeter for me? I’ve spent the last several weeks going through some of the best of the best just to get here, and knowing that my top two matches this month are against Tony and Griffin in the same fucking week, and knowing that Griff and Tony are friendly means that Mr. Hawkins is going to be watching me systematically dissect Mr. Savage before I fuck his world up next. Dismantling friends is something that I can safely say that I haven’t done in a very long time and yet it intrigues me. I’d love nothing more to move on to the Denzel Porter Invitational carrying not only the XWF Television Championship but also the Entity World Heavyweight Championship over my shoulders.
Think about the publicity that comes along with that.
People can say whatever the fuck they want about me. They can try and discredit me, they can try to call my character into question, and they can lie to themselves as much as their hearts are content to spin narratives… one thing that doesn’t change, Chris Page draws money. The Tony Savage experiment as The Entity World Champion has proven itself to be a failure. We’ve seen no growth under his reign, nobody coming out of the woodwork to try and shut his mouth, and no heat behind the promotion, it’s just kinda floundered. Now more than ever the Entity needs yours truly waving the flag because I can guarantee more talent signing contracts, more newsworthy matches taking place, and higher ratings than you’ve ever seen.
That’s what I bring to the table.
I don’t have to show up every week to a federation to leave a lasting impression… I just show up in general.
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: I don’t know who the hell that guy was but it wasn’t my husband. You put your name on a marquee against anyone and you know you’re going to give everything you’ve got. Look at the match with Ned, sure he’s no Tony, but you went thirty-five minutes in an Iron Man match without breaking a sweat.
CHRIS PAGE: Babe, call it a lapse in judgment. I’m back, and I’m ready. I’ve got a busy next few days with the Entity, with the XWF, and with the DPI but this is the shit I live for. It’s time to remind the world why I am “Chronic” Chris Page, and why I am simply better than everyone else.
Candice takes Chris by the hand and starts to pull him toward her bedroom that’s attached to her office occupying the Penthouse of the Velvet Rabbit Manhattan.
CHRIS PAGE: What’s on your mind?
CANDICE WOLF-PAGE: I can show you better than I can tell you.
Candice pulls Page through the bedroom door.
CHRIS PAGE: I like the sound of that.
The door slams shut.

I believe I’ve expressed just what this means and how much it means to leave Midnight Massacre as the frontman for this new adventure that we’re all trying to take. Each of us has our own motives or intentions but all of them share one thing in common; being the World Heavyweight Champion. As far as I’m concerned I’ve been the uncrowned Champion since show one and now the time has come for me to execute like no other. I love to call myself the best… well, this is where we get in the trenches to prove it.
I’m not taking you lightly.
I’m not playing games.
I’m not making a mockery of what this first-time-ever situation means in the bigger picture because this right here is the biggest piece of business I’ve done thus far this year, and I refuse to let my hard work or my superior levels of dedication be for fucking nothing. I am going to go places I haven’t been in years, I’ll take any shot I need to take if it means leaving with that strap of gold, and I’ll sell my soul to the Devil himself to leave with my arm in victory because that is just how serious and how committed I am to being the man. In just over twenty-four hours Madison Square Garden is going to be packed to the brim while millions of people watching from the confines of their homes are going to bear witness to two of the very best of their generations battling for the top spot of this organization.
I know what I’m stepping into.
The question is… do you?
